Our Student of the Month!

Logan's kindergarten year has been a roller coaster of up and down as he learned how a classroom works.  He had come a long way from the beginning of the year and much to my delight was honored as one of the Student of the Months kids!  Way to go Logan! Keep up the hard work!!

Receiving his award (and mommy's bumper sticker!)
We are all so proud of him! (Belle was sleeping but she was proud too!)
Awesome job Bud!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We aren't Irish and St. Patrick's Day has always been one of those days that I hated (probably because I usually forgot to wear green and people always pinched me) but it is so much fun with kids!! Both of the kids schools made a big deal out of St. Patrick's Day including Logan's leprechaun trap and crazy hair & wear day (somehow I missed taking a picture of the green fauxhawk!) and Peyton's green day! So we have been celebrating for 3 days now! Here are my cuties in their St Paddy's Day best!!

Peyton in her new legwarmers made from ladies over-the-knee socks!
Logan had crazy green hair on his day so Peyton had to have crazy green hair on her green day too! (Disturbing fact though, that colored hairspray eats though rubber, I replaced her bands twice before I gave up!)
Playing at mommy and me at chuch! Her shirt says "Kiss me I'm American" LOVE IT! (Thanks Laura for the hand-me-down years ago!) And legwarmers I had made for Peyton years ago!
An almost decent picture of all three! LOVE THEM SO MUCH!
So glad they are so close! Love that they are each others best friends!!

To catch a leprechaun....

Logan's kindergarten class's family project for March was to build a leprechaun trap.  So we hit the Dollar Tree and bought just about everything green he could find! We covered a box in glittery tissue paper, used window cling stickers of leprechauns to try to lure him in, and a butterfly net to capture him.  But alas, he did not fall for our trap but did leave us quite a mess!!

Lucky's note said, "Nice try, but I'm quick.  I left you a few surprizes! ~ Lucky"  And there were green footprints and glitter EVERYWHERE!

Peyton was explaining the "itty bitty footprints" They were both just amazed at our leprechaun visit!

Logan tried following his path but at one point he went under the island and Logan just couldn't fit!

I think he was a little disappointed his trap didn't work but he was more excited about the visit and the stuff he left for us like a box of Lucky Charms! And Duffy got a bow on his collar. And and awesome rainbow of fruit!

Even Belle thought the footprints were cool.  Although after cleaning up Lucky's mess I think I will hang a "Please wipe your feet sign" for next year!!

And here's our Pinterest inspired treat! I was going to use bananas for the gold but because I prepared it the night before they would have been yucky the next day. And the kids were super excited about the "gold" that Lucky left them!!

Peep S'mores!

I've always been a Peep lover! They are one of my favorite things about Easter (although you can get them for any holiday now-adays!) I saw this on Pinterest and thought the kids would LOVE it and they did!

They would be awesome with the colored Peeps but since I have one boy and one girl and I did not want an abundance of Peeps in my house before Easter I chose the yellow ones for this dessert.

Turned the broiler on low, placed graham crackers with two chocolate pieces on my pizza stone and popped it in the over for about 10 seconds.  Then I put a Peep on each graham cracker and toasted under the broiler for about another 10 seconds.  And then top with another graham cracker!!

The original Pinterest post suggested using the microwave to make these but I have to say the broiler worked awesome! The chocolate and Peeps were melty but not hot and even my little ones were able to eat it right away.

A Day at the Beach!

Before Sean left on yet another trip the kids asked to go to the beach.  Although it was March, the temps were pushing 80 and we just had to go! There is an awesome dog beach in Coronado right next to the Naval Air Station that we love! And when we got there we somehow managed to get the closest parking spot ever and didn't even have to walk! It was just meant to be.

We had a great couple of hours and here are so cute pictures of the day.  Can't wait to spend the summer on the beach with my kids!

Tiny toes ready for the sand!
Or not! The water was really cold (but it is March and the Pacific is never warm!)
Unless you are a little kid who loves water!!
Not sure how she can smile when she was freezing!
Duffy's not crazy about the water but will go in to protect his family!
Some days, this is just needed!
Building in the sand!
Another So Cal baby on our hands!
He's just getting too big!

Giving Me a Run for My Money!!

Having a baby this mobile this soon is definitely presenting new challenges to this experienced momma!  She's just been on fire getting into EVERYTHING!

WHEW, she's exhausting!!

Look Mom I unrolled that brand new roll of toilet paper!!
I ate a handful of dirt when you weren't looking!!
And I'm trying to figure out how to use the doggy door too!!

Splish Splash!

Miss Robin told us this week that for the Spring performances Peyton's class will be doing Splish Splash.  Here is an early attempt at this very fast paced, complicated dance!!

And here is the costume she will be wearing!! How stinking cute is she gonna be?!?!
